First, install rar/unrar on centOS before compress and split files. To compress and split rar archive use the command line:
# rar a -m5 -v20M test.rar your_file
note:
rar : starts the program
a : tells program to add files to the archive
-m5 : determine the compression level (0 don't compress, 3 default, 5 best compression but takes longest )
-v20M : determine the size of each file in
